Sat 17th March 01: Eights head: The Henley RC second eight containing 4 juniors (Rob, Jonny, Ryan and David) finished in a provisional time of 19 min 39sec placing them 184th. The HRC first eight finished just outside the top 100 with a time of 19min 5sec. (these results are provisional) Tue 13th March 01: Schools head J16 quad confirmed as, Bow Jonny, 2 Michael, 3 David, Str Ryan. The following juniors will be rowing in the HRC second eight for the eights head: David (2), Ryan (3), Jonny (7), Rob (str). Fri 9th March 01: Everything has been really frantic recently with cancelled races and nobody knowing quite what’s going on, but things seem finally to have come into focus. The river has finally gone down and the evenings are lighter so we’re managing to get out on the water after school now. “Kingston” trial (held at Boston): Saturday, Johnny had an excellent race finishing 6th, Ryan 25th and David 27th. Rob and Johnny came 9th in the pairs on Sunday, making spring assessments. David, Ryan and Simon had intended to race at Peterborough but it was unfortunately cancelled. David and Ryan will be taking part in race offs during springs, while Rob and Johnny have made sweep spring assessments. Simon will be going as a cox. Other news: HRC will be entering a J16 quad for the School’s Head (crew yet to be confirmed), Rob will be racing in the Sir William Borlase first quad. Many of the HRC boys will be rowing in club crews at the Eights Head, while Simon and Ollie will be coxing Leander boats. |
